Shine Bright

To celebrate the end of Running Club, Miss O'Gorman and the children organised a sponsored Park Run. Their aim was to have fun, showcase their love of running, work together and raise money for their chosen charity, the Red Cross.

The event was very well attended by the children and their families and a wonderful morning was had by all, including other members of the school community who also participated. The children demonstrated great stamina, determination and excellent running skills throughout the event.

In recognition of their hard work and commitment, the Running Club proudly raised over £200 for their chosen charity.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported and took part in this wonderful event.

Our Year 2 and Year 5 pupils recently took part in the Young Leaders Award, a programme that encourages children to develop leadership skills and make a positive difference in their community.

As part of the award, the children chose to raise awareness about local and global issues. We were inspired by Max's story who campaigned for the 'OPT out'. We chose to sign some petitions online, including a petition about early ECG assessment.

The project helped the children develop teamwork, communication and leadership skills, while also showing empathy and support for one another. We are very proud of their efforts and the positive impact they have made.

Martha and Mrs Church led the Odd Socks Campaign this week to raise awareness for Down Syndrome. The children took part by wearing odd socks, celebrating individuality and inclusion in a fun and visible way.

Throughout the week, Martha and her family also sold 'gingerbread sock' biscuits each evening. These proved to be both very popular and delicious, helping to further support the campaign and engage the community.

We are incredibly proud to say that a group of enthusiastic Year 6 Children led a special fundraising event in support of Cheshire Dog's Home, a local charity they've chosen because of their passion for animal welfare and the incredible work the charity does to care for dogs in need. They planned for a range of activities including guess the name of the teddy, held a cake sale, guessed the sweets in the jar and sold dog goodies.

As a result of this hard work and determination, Pippa and the rest of Year 6 managed to raise over £200 for Cheshire Dog's and increased awareness for these furry friends without a home.

After the fundraising event, the children were lucky enough to visit the centre to drop off the donations and even got to meet some of the residents!

Well done Year 6 you really are shining bright!

During our whole school Collective Worship, we discussed the importance of courage and how Moses displayed courage when faced with the burning bush. We reflected on times when we have needed to show courage. Sometimes, small steps are needed when faced with something new or challenging. Courage is all about not letting fear stop us do the things in life we want so that we can shine bright in all that we do! 

What a fabulous Christmas cake! A very talented pupil designed this cake depicting a snowy scene along with Santa's grotto and top baking expert Juliet Sear baked it! We think it looks fantastic, well done Jessica!
